How To Fall Asleep

Have you ever just been lying there in your bed wondering HOW TO FALL ASLEEP? Thoughts racing through your head, unable to shut your mind off. For many people this is a common occurrence.

Insomnia can be caused by a number of factors. Many of which can be preventable. Ask yourself these questions to see if you can curb some of the factors that can lead to not being able to fall asleep.

Did you exercise to close to bedtime?

Did you try to clear your mind of all the days stresses?

Is your room temperature to hot?

Do you have a light showing on your sleep space?

Did you have any energy drinks or caffeine to close to bedtime?

Have you dealt with all past or future stresses?

Being able to avoid these situations can aid you in getting a good nights sleep. You can combat these times by trying a few little tricks.

Establish a consistent sleeping schedule.

Do something that you enjoy before you go to sleep to ease the tension.

Plan tomorrows activities ahead of time.

Have a hot bath or shower before bed.

Play soothing music before bed.

Read a book (maybe a boring one).

Get more natural sun during the day.

These a just a few things that may help to get you a restful nights sleep.

I read bedtime stories to my kids, like an old-fashioned father, to get them to sleep early.

Wow... I never think about these things. I am a good sleeper, in fact, I can drop sleep just about anywhere at any time. I take sleeping for granted. It is interesting to consider that for some people to fall sleep can be such a source of trouble. Thanks for the insight!
